Homeowners, Look into getting sewer line insurance
Over the years, multiple homeowners within our community have experienced sewer line failures, most commonly due to tree root intrusion. In several cases, repair and replacement costs have ben between $15,000 and $20,000.
Our community at one time had many more trees than what you currently see. So even if there are no trees currently near your home, sewer line damage can still occur. Roots can travel significant distances underground in search of moisture and may enter pipes through small cracks or joints.
In many situations, the source may be:
- Trees that were removed years ago
- Nearby common-area or neighboring trees
- Natural root spread over time beneath the property

Pets
Leash and Scoop
All pets must comply with Fairfax County leash laws and SKS rules.

- Pets must be on a leash at all times (including woodland trails)
- Owners must clean up and properly dispose of pet waste
Trash & Recycling
Collection:
Every Tuesday morning
Required for large items (furniture, appliances, etc.)

Yard Waste:
Must be bagged or bundled (max 4 ft, 50 lbs)
Hazardous Waste & Electronics:
Must be taken to Fairfax or Lorton facilities
Every Tuesday morning
- Place containers at curb by 6:00 AM Tuesday or the night before
- Return containers to rear yards by Wednesday morning
- Address numbers must be affixed to container lids
